There are actually millions of dollars in scholarships available each year, but you must locate and apply for them. Here are some tips to get you started. - Start early. Many students start searching during their junior year of high school.
- Take a chance. Don't assume you will not qualify for a particular scholarship.
- Don't pay someone to help you locate scholarship money.
- Have confidence. If you don't think that you deserve a scholarship, why should the people reading your application?
- Fill out the FAFSA after January 1st of your college enrollment year. You'll need to fill this out to qualify for need-based scholarships.
