Business Analyst I

Summary

The Business Analyst I plays an integral role throughout the full system development lifecycle, serving as a key liaison between Information Technology and business stakeholders. This position is responsible for understanding business objectives, analyzing requirements, and developing clear, concise documentation that supports the delivery of effective software solutions.

A successful Business Analyst I demonstrates strong project coordination and management skills, drives initiatives to successful completion, and delivers high-quality project artifacts that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences. This role serves as an advocate for successful project execution, ensuring solutions align with organizational objectives while supporting both business and technology goals.

Expectations

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, system, and functional requirements, as well as related business processes.
• Collaborate with CampusDoor and client stakeholders to understand business needs and refine requested features and enhancements.
• Research and analyze system issues, change requests, and potential defects to identify appropriate solutions.
• Partner with technical teams during the solution design process to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system functionality.
• Actively contribute to the end-to-end delivery of software solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, methodologies, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes.
• Provide regular updates on assigned tasks, project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and project teams.
• Support business and technology stakeholders by assisting with production issue resolution, troubleshooting, and ongoing operational support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong professional, technical, and consulting skills, with a solid understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within an Information Technology environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, organization, and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
• Knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft Visio preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies preferred.
• Experience within the student loan or financial services industry preferred.
